Voting and other difficulties....

Ich wußte schon warum ich mich solange davor gedrückt habe, vor diesem Post.

Clipfish finde ich einfach nicht Koscher, zuerst waren nicht alle unsere SuperSpots im Wettbewerb gelistet, und jetzt stellen meine neuen Freunde dort das Votingsystem im Minutentakt um. Hackts?

Nichtsdestotrotz, dürft ihr jetzt alle fleißig für uns Voten!
Also, einloggen, ankucken und gut benoten. Wer uns ne schlechte Note gibt, den besuche ich persönlich mit meinem Alubaseballschläger und wir diskutieren das dann in aller Ruhe.

We finally did it - 5to12

After spending the last week in the post production world (Gregor´s room with some computers), we managed to upload all the videos to clipfish.de. And also, we supported another group of ambitious filmmakers from Mittweida with some voiceover (click here). They also did a very good job with their advertisement spot for Schnee Weizen, shot on HD.

We would like to give you a short overview over our spots - with some explanation. The first one we uploaded was the Fissler spot. From idea to final cut it took us only one day. We call this a quick and dirty version. This description also fits for our Meggle spot. We all pushed our vitamin E level during that shoot. Another quick shot was the Fujicolor Photobook Spot - the idea was born with the arrival of my new computer which didn´t work. But before we sent it back - we used the little MacBook-baby as our protagonist. By the way - the photobook from Fuji, which we wanted to use in the first place didn´t arrive in time. That is why we improvised a little. The first shooting was for our New Yorker Spot (frequent readers know this already, thanks for following up), it was also the first one that we finished in post production. The spot that took most of our time is called Landpomeranze - just see for yourself. Our partner kreakollektiv posted the spot "Kinoabend" on clipfish.de - Another spot for a delicious perfume! Some of you might ask why we did all this. One answer could be: "Because we just don´t like to waste our lifetime sleeping." Another one could be: "Because we wanted to prove our friendship." And another one could be: "We love to experiment, to improve, to meet, to network and to win 25.000 Euros."

Mittweida is calling!

Mittweida - that is the town in Saxony, where we all used to study. And when someone from "MW" as we call it, contacts us, we are always reminded of how small this world actually is. Yesterday, someone from MW asked one of us, if it would be possible to do some voice-over for an advertising movie that has been produced for the Ehre und Karriere Competition. How funny is that! Let´s see if we can put all the rivalry aside ;-).

Meanwhile, we are almost through all the post-production. Still cutting out, still putting the virtual camera in place. Another good news: on clipfish.de you can already see our second Spot for New Yorker! click here

As it can be seen on one of the pictures of the last post, we always talk about what went wrong, what was better than the last time and so on after the shoot to improve. Now we want to give a feedback for everybody, especially because this blog seems to be widely read. The biggest thanks goes to our actors - Natascha who should actually be practising for her final exam at the Reduta Actors School on the following friday, and Dennis - former team member and now best understudy you can cast! Again with us was Miss Makeup Janina - Thank you!

Certainly the best thing at the last shoot - location and catering! We have been spoiled with home-baked currant buns for breakfast and homemade vegetarian lasagne for lunch - thanks to RJs Hotel Mama! Last but not least we can proudly announce that after three shoots we are still on friendly terms with each other! Let´s see how the post production goes!

Oder nicht? Und deswegen haben wir uns heut mal diese Kleinigkeit gegönnt:

Und weil wir schon wieder mal leicht drüber waren, haben wir uns gleich mit dem neuen Baby abgelichtet. Wir parieren so die Schwierigkeiten. Aber besser als Unmöglichkeiten. Schwierigkeiten sind doch ein Kinderspiel für uns, wo bliebe denn die Herausforderung wenn alles klappen würde, gelle?

And because we again we're a little over the edge, we got some funny pictures with our new baby! It's our way to handle some difficulties, thrown in our way like little stones.

Auch ein Fakt, was wäre es denn für ein Dreh, wenn wir wirklich alle ausgeschlafen wären, heute ab 9 Uhr am Set. Oder 8 Uhr? Immer diese Zeitumstellung. Gut jetzt aber, ist ja schon fast 2 Uhr. Oder 3 Uhr. Egal.

The bluescreen shoot is over and again the Creatives would like to thank everybody who made it possible! Thanks to our supporter Peter, owner of the cove in Weißensee (you can rent the bluescreen cove, by the way)! Thanks to "Miss Makeup" Janina! Thanks to our fabulous actors Eva, Victoria, Livia and Anne! Thanks to the best best boy in town Dennis! Thanks to Eva for her help, her dancing and her patience!

After we almost met the schedule perfectly at the last shoot, we certainly overran the time scale this time. To floodlight the blue background and stage took a bit more time than we had planned. And it turned out to be not that easy to illuminate masses of dancing girls in front of a fake club, especially when you cannot save the white balance setting in the camera! But anyway - we are happy to be able to start the keying and masking and cutting out to finally put together Landpomeranzes CGI-World and the real images!

The Cove in Weißensee

The bluescreen-shoot for our "Landpomeranze" idea can take place this sunday - thanks to Peter from Weißensee! Based on a (small) lack of money, we couldn´t build a bluescreen cove on our own. That is why we were looking for an alternative. And we found it.

Actually, Peter is a teacher in Lichtenberg, but in his spare time he is shooting films featuring really tall women and really small buildings - have a look at his giantess website (see link righthand). This weekend, there´s no crashing little houses and fake trees but nose lifting girls from the countryside.

Eva will be the girl who is finding her way into town with a special odour guiding her. In the spot, her character will meet new friends in town, one of which will be played by Veronica, drama student from Berlin.

We are very happy that our makeup-artist Janina is going to join us again, as well as Dennis who will help us out with the lighting this time!

Wir hatten Dienstag wieder ein Meeting. So wie es sein sollte: kurz, effektiv, produktiv, partiell spassig. Ergebnis: Wir drehen am Sonntag erneut. Und das tollste, wir werden nicht nur supported, nein wir werden von unseren Supportern auch gelesen! Damit ist auch die Blogdaseinsberechtigungsfrage vom Tisch!

Weil wir gerade dabei sind, unsere Unterstützer sind Fissler, Pussy Deluxe, New Yorker und Fuji Color. Bis jetzt. Tendenz steigend. Von denen gibt es Produkte, und von uns spritzige Werbung. Kein schlechter Deal, soweit, oder?

Desweiteren haben wir die Stabliste um ein paar Schauspielerinnen erweitert. Zu finden in der Linkliste. Und für unseren Pussy Deluxe Spot haben B-Tina und Gregory den gewünschten GreenScreen aufgetan. Witzig dabei ist, es ist der gleiche, nach dem ich auch gesucht habe. Touché!

We had another meeting on Tuesday Night. Like it should be: short, effective, productiv and partially funny. Result: We're shooting two more ads in the next two weeks. And the best part, we're not just being supported, we're being about to be widely read. Foremost by our supporters. The question, if the blog has a right to exist is therefore resolved.

Our supporters by now are: Fissler, Pussy Deluxe, New Yorker und Fuji Color. Till now. With an upward trend! Support in exchange for lively advertisments. No bad deal, right?

Furthermore, we stocked up our Crew. We listed new actresses. And last but not least, Bettina and Gregory found the GreenScreenroom they were looking for. Funny, I was trying to find the identical one they found.

1st shooting day - THANKs

Und bitte! (Some call it "Action!") - We admit it has been slightly stressful today, but anyway the first great shooting day is over and the L`Orangerie Team would like to thank all the lovely people that have been involved!
First of all, we like to thank our actors Katja and Alex for a hot striptease! We are much obliged for the work of our makeup artist Janina Kuhlmann - not only for the look of our actors but also for beautiful stills! Thanks to Dennis for his fight against the killer-DAT-recorder! Furthermore we would like to thank Konrad who doesn´t know anything about all this!

Und bitte! Auch, wenn es ein wenig stressig war - Ein toller Drehtag ist zu Ende gegangen und an dieser Stelle möchte das Orangerie-Team sich bei allen Beteiligten bedanken! Allen voran natürlich bei den Darstellern Katja und Alex für einen heißen Strip. Unserer famosen Maske Janina Kuhlmann gilt der Dank auch für die schönen Stills! Danke an unseren Tonmann Dennis dafür, dass er den Kampf mit dem Mörder-Dat-Gerät aufgenommen hat. Außerdem ein stilles Danke an Konrad, der von alledem nichts weiß!

Live Blogging vom Shoot.

Die erste Klappe ist gefallen, die Spotdrehsaison hat begonnen.
Nachdem wir die Stromschnellen pariert haben, konnten wir heute frisch ans Werk. Mit frisch und munter ist wie bei fast allen Drehs chronisch übernüdet und partiell gereizt gemeint. Als angehende Vollprofis überspielen wir das natürlich.

Die Stromschnellen, ergo die kleinen, nennen wir sie Diskrepanzen, wie eine weggebrochene Drehlocation (Wegbruch Freitag Abend, Drehbeginn Samstag 8 Uhr) konnten wir mit einer fast schon aus dem Hut gezauberten Ersatzlocation meistern.

Ebenso ein abgesprungener Schauspieler konnte dank geänderter Scriptadaptionen gelöst werden. Wir reden hier ja aber auch nur von Schwierigkeiten, nicht von Unmöglichkeiten. Also ein Kinderspiel. Fotos haben wir auch gemacht, die gibt es dann später, auch hier. Schließlich wollen wir zeigen was wir drauf haben, und klar sind wir stolz darauf, was wir fast schon Guerilla-like in so kurzer Zeit aus dem Boden gestemmt haben.

Eigenlob stinkt, I know, I know. Ich rieche allerdings gerade mehr einen Hauch von Erfolg.

Noch zwei Tage...

... bis zum ersten Dreh (also fast bis Hollywood)! Heute abend ist großes Dispo-Meeting! Am Samstag steht der erste Spot für New Yorker auf dem Drehplan und Dank Herrn Schrenk (wie Schrank, nur mit "e") vom New Yorker Marketing sind unsere Protagonisten jetzt mit topmodischen Outfits und Accessoires von eben diesem Modelabel ausgestattet! Mit an Board unserer Crew sind Janina und Nina, zwei Maskenbildnerinnen in der Ausbildung, die unsere Darsteller Katja (Schauspielerin in Berlin) und Alex (Model und Zivi) am Wochenende schick machen werden! Unsere Location wird die Wohnung von Marcel sein, den wir mit den Worten "Es wird nicht lange dauern", "Wir räumen danach wieder auf" und "Wir machen nix kaputt" überreden konnten, uns bei sich drehen zu lassen! Also, jetzt heißt es nur noch Technik frei!

Meetings sind unerlässlich.

Und spaßig. Und produktiv natürlich.

Gestern hatten wir ein weiteres von vielen Notwendigen Meetings. Klar, Projekte brauchen Meetings. Vier Werbefilme stemmen sich schließlich nicht von alleine aus dem Boden. Kreatives Kollektiv Meeting die dritte. Oder vierte.

Die Location hierfür war dieses mal ein Café in Prenzlberg, die Ostfee. Vorstellbar etwa so: Eine von faschistoiden Frischluftfanatikern geführte kleine Buzze, in der zwar nicht geraucht werden durfte, aber dennoch bei gefühlten 5°Celsius Außentemperatur während der ganzen Zeit des Aufenthalts die Tür weit offen stehen musste. Der Versuch sie zu schließen hielt nur etwa 5 Minuten. Frühstück war wohl in Ordnung, die vegetarische Pizza(ecke) die ich dort konsumierte, hat mich nicht geflasht. Und RJ gönnte sich ein so genanntes Holländerglück, ein als Focaccia angepriesenes Giabatta mit Käse und Serano. Abzug in der B-Note, gleich doppelt.

Gregory und B-Tina trafen sich dort Jörg, unserem Wunsch-Storyboarder. Für eine der Ideenumsetzung ist er geradezu prädestiniert. RJ und meine Wenigkeit kamen etwas später dazu. Nach Kaffee und Briefing ging es allerdings ins temporäre HQ, Pluspunkte dort Wärme, Internet und Raucherlaubnis. Beschimpfungen gehen da auch leichter von der Hand. Da heißt es dann schon mal, man sehe aus wie ein KZ-Häftling, mokiert sich über die Frisur der anderen, muss sich fürs Storyboard ausziehen, ganz zu schweigen von offenen Reißverschlüssen…

Die Krönung des Kreativ/Produktivtages war aber sicherlich vor meiner Haustüre. RJ setzt mich zuhause ab, und vor der Haustüre fragt uns ein schräger Kunde, ob wir heute zufällig nach Mittweida fahren, er sucht noch ne Mfg. Ich meinte nur: „Nach Mittweida?“, und er so: „ja, das ist n Dorf an der tschechischen Grenze…“ Ah ja. Meine Fresse, sehen wir denn nach Mittweida aus, oder warum labern uns wildfremde Freaks in Fhain an, ob wir ausgerechnet dahin fahren? Hölle.
